Alumni Board

The Board of Directors of the building corporation, AE Connect, was enacted on February 1, 2003, by then Corporate President, John Sutton.

With the knowledge that alumni provide an older and wiser head when it comes to the future financial security of our Fraternity House, the majority of the control of the Capital Account and Mortgage was turned over to the Board. The worth of a competent Alumni Board is immeasurable, which eliminates the inherent disadvantage of rapid turnover of corporate officers.

The Board of Directors currently consists of eight alumni, the chapter president and treasurer, and the corporate president and treasurer. The B.O.D. has the primary responsibility to provide oversight on corporation financial operations. In addition, the Board can give advice in areas such as public relations, insurance policies and other legalities. Each board member serves a year term with a commitment to meet three times per calendar year. Interested alumni with experience in the business or professional arena can become an invaluable resource to the Board and further the well being of Alpha Epsilon by becoming an Alumni Volunteer or running for one of the Director seats.

With the introduction of the Alpha Epsilon Society in January 2006, will come the first group of Sustaining Members. One of the main benefits of becoming a Sustaining Member is the Alumni Board voting rights that come with the membership. To become a member of the Alumni Board, each candidate must express their interest and then the Sustaining Members will vote in the 8 Directors at the annual shareholder meeting, tentatively scheduled to happen during the Alumni Cocktail.
